Talking Rhythms Schools programme.

Schools programme.

A traditional rhythm circle is a dynamic way to energise and draw together groups of all ages. This workshop takes participants on a journey through tempo,  volume  and rhythmic structures. In this workshop we will have:

-Enjoyed the vitality given by the feel of corporate drumming.

-Explored the natural rhythm of words and phrases.

-Had opportunity to lead and listen, increasing confidence.

-increased our awareness of those around us.

-Relaxed and released our creative spirit

Full day workshop experience.

A full day schools workshop comprises up to four workshops for either single class or mixed groups of up to thirty children.

The pace and structure of the groups will take account of the age and nature of the groups.

The format of the activity focuses on a practical hands on approach and aims to be as inclusive as possible to enable all to take part.

No previous experience is necessary.

An option for the end of the day is to put on a short “recall” concert including everyone who has taken part in the workshops.

"Very energetic and lively delivery which engaged the children throughout.

Good range of instruments for the children to use, good variety of activities.

Thoroughly enjoyed by both staff and children."

Pupils at Brookside Primary have already had a taste of 'Talking Rhythms' and Year 4 pupil Baneet said: "Mr Stokes came to school with his fantastic Djembe(drum) called 'Remo'.  The sound made everyone beat with it.  Miss Kirby's class thought it was so amazing they wanted to join in!  Eventually we let them!"
My personal favourite!!
Another happy youngster added: "Mr Stokes is a musician.  He isn't famous he's just a player !"
